Footwork on the court is very different to how you move when doing other sports such as running or fitness. You quickly move forward and back as well as side to side. Tennis shoes offer the support you need to play safely, therefore reducing the risk of injury.
Your cushioning needs are also specific as your feet require complete protection from impacts.
