About the Nanoflare rackets
A racket designed for speed. The Nanoflare (replaces the Nanoray range) is designed for speed to meet the needs of defensive and doubles players. The balance is more towards the grip for a speedier swing and better handling to put more speed on the shuttlecock.
Weight
78 g - 5U (75-79 g).
The weight of a racket, given in grams, typically ranges between 60 and 100 g. These rackets are grouped by weights, indicated by units called "U". Lighter rackets are more manoeuvrable, comfortable and easier on the arm, allowing for faster swinging. Meanwhile, heavier rackets give you more power.
Flexibility
flexible.
Shafts can range from flexible to rigid. A flexible shaft offers more forgiveness and comfort during play, while making it easier to hit long shots. A rigid shaft, on the other hand, provides better repulsion and precision, but requires good arm speed.
Balance
Head light.
The balance of a racket corresponds to the distribution of its weight from the base of the handle to the balance point. A head-light racket offers better manoeuvrability and responsiveness, ideal for defensive players! In contrast, a head-heavy racket provides more power, which is popular with offensive players, although it may feel heavier and less easy to handle.
Composition
graphite.
Steel and/or aluminium models are suitable for recreational use. Graphite/aluminium or all-graphite rackets are better suited to beginners and regular players. Lastly, rackets made from High-Modulus Graphite, often combined with technologies such as tungsten, are designed for intermediate and intensive players.
Length
675 mm.
The racket length on adult rackets ranges between 660 and 680 mm. This variation only applies to the shaft length. A shorter shaft improves manoeuvrability and offers better feel, while a longer shaft enhances the swingweight to generate more power.
Grip size
G5 = small (80‒84 mm).
The diameter of the handle of a racket generally varies between 75 and over 90 mm. A thicker handle will give you a better grip, but makes changing grips harder, while a thinner handle is more agile for a faster swing.
Original strings
Rackets come pre-strung with Yonex multifilament string with a gauge of 0.70 mm.
Thicker strings are more durable, while thinner strings give you a better feel and more accuracy, but break more quickly. Flexible strings are good for longer shots, while stiff strings give you more snap and better control. Lastly, a rough texture will increase spin and rotation of the shuttle.
Original tension:
Factory tension: 8-10 kg.
The tension is expressed in kilograms (kg) or pounds (lb). Rackets are generally strung at around 9 kg (20 lbs), but the tension can decrease over time.
Recommended tension
9-12 kg/20-27 lbs. Every brand recommends a maximum tension for their rackets to prevent the string or frame from breaking while stringing or hitting. The string tension affects the ball. Low tension offers a more comfortable feel and makes long shots easier. High tension offers better accuracy, more snap and a nicer sound, but it is more sensitive, especially for off-centre hits. Adapt the tension to your needs and playing style.
Stringing:
22x22. The string pattern is expressed in the number of vertical strings x the number of horizontal strings. In badminton, you say mains and crosses on a racket. A reduced string pattern will increase power and comfort but will be less long-lasting.
72 eyelets stringing instructions: A = top, B = bottom
4 knots. Mains: start from top centre and string until B9. Go through B12 towards T11, then go back to T10, down to B10 and finish by tying off at B8.(same other side)
Crosses: Make a knot at B6 and start crosses from B9. Keep on stringing until T7 and finish by tying a knot at T5.
Frame technology
Isometric, Aero Frame, Sonic Flare System
Shaft composition
Control Support CAP, Slim Shaft
Isometric
The Isometric design increases the sweet spot by 7%*. Compared to a classic round frame, a square ISOMETRIC racket creates a larger sweet spot.
Sonic Flare system
A combination of graphite at the top and bottom of the frame for better repulsion and maximum shuttlecock speed while maintaining control and stability upon impact.
Aero frame
The aerodynamic frame reduces air resistance for faster hits.
Control support cap
The top cap's surface is wider and 88% more flat than an ordinary racket for a better grip and more control on the racket.
Slim Shaft
The thinner racket shaft enables it to slice through the air more easily, generating a faster, more powerful shot.
